About Raposinho

He's a "catraio".

A traditional sailing boat from the Tejo estuary built in 1984 and acquired by Associação Náutica do Seixal in April 2007.

The acquisition of this vessel had the goal of allowing an active participation of Associação Náutica do Seixal:
  • In the protection and safekeeping of naval heritage in the Tagus estuary.
  • In promoting the learning of traditional sailing.

During the last years, Raposinho was present in several events, publicizing both Associação Náutica do Seixal and Traditional Sailing.

An important moment for us was the registration of Raposinho in Marinha do Tejo.

The pinnacle of our mission happened in September 2009, when Raposinho and other traditional vessels from our river estuaries represented Portugal (as an invited country) in the Loire Festival, in Orléans, France.
